The story behind Altir is a tale as old as time: the coworkers to friends to business partners trajectory. It's a classic for a reason. We entered into the industry as bridal stylists with the same sights set: fashion, art and heart. But the fashion became fast and the art became algorithmic, so we put our hearts into a new idea: Altir.
Altir offers an alternative avenue for those who say I don't to fast fashion, monotony and ill-fitting traditions and I do to sustainability, artistry, and the inimitable moment of recognising yourself in a garment.
Altir drops limited collections comprised of ethically sourced vintage and upcycled wedding apparel. Each piece is different and therefore differently handled: some need a few touchups and a polish while others are upcycled and transformed.
From sourcing to socials, to replacing boning and lining, to hand-dyeing and designing, everything is done in-house by our tiny team in Naarm/Melbourne.
To us Altir is a path forward, a celebration of love in all forms, a middle finger to the traditions that no longer suit us and a ring finger to those that do.
